Dating back to May 20, 1875, multiple countries signed the Metre Convention in Paris, laying a solid foundation for a unified global metrology system and international measurement communication. In 1999, May 20th was officially designated as World Metrology Day, setting unified global metrology standards and establishing a benchmark for trust across all industries. The theme of this year’s World Metrology Day is Metrology: The Foundation of Trust.
